He believed he could lift the sun
from the sky
place it upon a single point
in the deep dry landscape
a beacon of his pain
a lone star
shining through his emptiness
drawing someone
anyone
to make the long journey
into the desert of his heart.
Thank you for providing these beautiful and inspiring images. I am saddened by your departure, but very grateful for all the work you put into this site.

Thank you, Maureen. And thank you for your contribution to the site. I”m not going away totally. I’ll pop in and surprise everyone with an image now and then.
So happy you found the site so inspiring!
Be well…Roka
Like the pharaos of the ages of grandeur –
he tries to reach the sun and put it just at the edge of the pyramids – symbols of that grandeur and human might.
It’s just that he forgets that all the glory of the Kings of Sun had ended up ages ago in the dust of eternal sands.
