Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Mark. I live in one of the poorest counties in North Carolina, USA.
I have a wife of 22 years and two teenagers a girl and a boy.
I am a licensed surveyor, self-employed. My wife teaches literature at a private Christian School.
We are Christians and are very active in church.
When did you first begin writing?
I used to love to write stories when I was in Elementary School.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Still considering myself.
What is your favorite genre for writing? – fiction, poetry, non-fiction, commentary, etc.

Who has been the greatest influence in your writing.
The wind.
What inspires you to write?
Anything really . Nature is a favorite.
Do you read as much as you write?
Yes , not nearly enough.
What book are you reading now?
Short stories by Edith Wharton
Is writing a career for you? If not – can you see it as one?
No.
Yes, if I can get one of those Carl Sandburg deals.
Currently my wife has no interest in goats.
Where did your interest in writing originate?
Lyrics to all songs.

The hunt and the scratching of the surface before it gets away.

What is your favorite color?
Blue -all shades ,even the scary Walt Disney blues .
What is your favorite thing to have for breakfast?
Sawmill gravy with bits of homemade sausage in it on top of a biscuit with a whole piece of sausage. Strong coffee with cream.

Who would play you in a movie about yourself?
I am certain it would be clay-mation and that you would see my hand sometimes.
What super power would you like to have? Why?
Solar power. So I could get off the grid and hide from the man.
What do you do to relax?
Walks in the woods and fields around my home.
Do I smell like smoke? No, I haven’t been smoking cigars.
