“Have you seen my Dad?”
Dr. B
She used to dream in technicolor
But shades and tones now cover
A gray outlook
As she prepares for a storm
A bleak backdrop burdens her smile
But inside she beams with sunlit bands.
Because she dreams in technicolor
in tones of darker shades of gray,
her mind will wander through the day…
in hopes of love
and shiny things
her wisdom sees another side.
a wisp of whims
and fantasy…
of fairy kings
and hearts that sing!
a raindrop full of imagery
that dances in the eyes of mind
she sees so well…
what others
walk right by.

I’ve chosen my rainy clothes for today.
Mum said it’s alright, it won’t rain.
I’ve chosen my balck waterproof boots.
Mum said take something else, you will look silly.
I’ve chosen Dad’s big red umbrella which is so heavy I hardly can carry.
Mum said leave it here, you won’t need it.
I’ve chosen my white long skirt with blooms to have some bright spots on me on a grey rainy day.
Mum said it’s alright, it’s not a hot summer morning.
I’ve chosen a shirt with a heart on it, to ask for some love and look friendly.
Mum said, it’s alright, you’re not a doll.
For me it’s a rainy day today.
I’m gonna stand here and my rainy clothes will ask for the rain to fall and I won’t go until someone answers my call.

As I waited for the bus, I saw her, a little girl… small for her age, standing in the cold. She was holding an umbrella close to keep the wind from her small thin body.
Even though it was near freezing, she had no coat and I could see her body shiver even from a distance.
I reached into my purse and pulled out a $20 bill and, as I approached to hand it to her, she looked at me with sadness but hope in her eyes. My heart cried for her.
I leaned down and wrapped my warm wool scarf around her shoulders and prayed God would look after her and keep her safe.
powerful emotions!! loved it!
